There are dark doings in this time, and we may feel like God is nowhere to be found.
The truth is that God is the one who ensures that all that was done in darkness is brought to light.
Before, we only heard rumors of the devilish things people were doing. Now these deeds are being blasted from the rooftops.
We always knew what sin was, but the definitions seemed to slide by with the times.
Now, those who are being exposed are not only those who were obviously selling themselves in order to gain profit and power, but now we see that under that alluring façade, they were also filthy, corrupt, and vile, doing vicious things to innocent babes, and bragging about it.
Some churches have also become corrupt. We need to understand that much of the world's filth has crept in. David Wilkerson prophesied this back in the early 1970s, and at the time, we did not believe it could be so.
Gently, subtly, Satan crept in and installed his own substitute, false shepherds. He offered the things that are his to offer in this fallen world. A little bit here, a little bit there, until the appetite for sin was sparked, and there seemed to be no water to quench it.
As we read the following verses, pay attention to things that you can point out as common traits or deeds in the modern church. In fact, make your own list, and try to remember when you saw these things, good or bad, in your church community or among your church leaders.
Galatians 5:19-26 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;  (20) idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions  (21) and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.  (22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  (23) gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  (24) Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.  (25) Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.  (26) Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
God is cleaning house! Judgment begins in the house of God. Judgment is a good thing, not something to shy away from. It is righteous, bracing, and refreshing! It is like cutting out cancer so the body can live. It is also like pointing out that you have a great immune system, so if you eat the right things, rest, and get sunshine and fresh air, you will beat any illness. Judgment shows us what deserves punishment and what deserves praise.
Jesus said that when He returns, His reward (for us), will be with Him. Now is the time to examine ourselves to see if we need a course correction.
One thing that we must all guard against is falling into fear and unbelief. This can result from too much analysis of current events without spending time meditating in the presence of the Lord.
The cure for overwhelming evil is the love of the Most High God! Satan is truly the prince of this world and has been ever since the fall of our first parents, Adam and Eve. But when Jesus returns, all the world's kingdoms will become His once more.
So, I encourage you to keep these words in your heart so that you will be solid and able to keep your balance in these dark times.
Philippians 4:4-9 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  (5) Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.  (6) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  (7) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  (8) Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.  (9) Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Memorize this passage, meditate on it, and you will have an instant portrait of our beautiful Lord Jesus.
