A prayer request.
Beloved,
I have a prayer request to share with you. Please forgive me if this appears disjointed or difficult to understand.
Last Wednesday, I went to the hospital for what felt like pneumonia. It was tough to breathe, and my heart rate was irregular. They did some testing on me and said I had atrial fibrillation (RVR) and congestive heart failure. I was transported to a different hospital by ambulance (it felt silly to me at the time), and there I underwent more testing and had to stay a few days watching myself go rapidly downhill in strength and endurance.
I was advised I would need to be on blood thinners because they would want to perform cardioversion on me within three weeks—this is where they stop the heart and then restart it in the hope of getting it to return to a normal rhythm.
I am constantly coughing. The cardiologist said this was because my weakened heart is pushing fluid back into my lungs. After all, my heart rate is too fast to pump blood where it belongs properly. I have been walking around with this condition for at least a few months without realizing it, so my heart muscle has also stretched out.
I originally came to the hospital knowing I had bronchitis (I have chronic bronchitis and have had it nearly every year of my life since I was a little girl). Because the doctor didn’t listen to me, the bronchitis got worse. I was released home on Saturday without the medicine I needed, and did nothing but cough and choke and have trouble sleeping.
Finally, I visited a Doc-in-the-Box on Monday and received the proper treatment for bronchitis. The bronchitis is starting to settle and clear out, though the coughing from the heart failure is still with me. Unfortunately, the coughing has been very hard on me.
The ejection fraction of my heart is currently 35%. Before taking my new medications, my heart rate was 150 beats per minute. It has slowed down somewhat (now under 100).
These blood thinners are causing me pain and damage, and I am utterly exhausted. Western medicine is, to us, a plague, and we do not trust the doctors. We feel caught between a rock and a hard place.
My precious mate has also been ill with bronchitis, and he is finally getting better. There are also issues regarding his work that seriously need the Lord’s attention. We are exhausted and dearly need our brothers and sisters in Christ to come alongside us in prayer, so I decided to share this prayer request with you all.
We are both constantly asking our Abba for healing, wisdom, knowledge, and guidance. Here is our hope; there is a possibility that my heart could reset its rhythm, and if it does so, I won’t need the doctors to cardiovert me.

I had afib for 3 months before cardioversion which worked. I had the cough continuously and couldn't sleep except propped up on pillow. Very serious breathing episodes if I exerted myself at all. Cardioversion worked but they discovered serious mitral valve leak which needed repair. Heart surgery followed. Many pills in this period and even now 2 / 1/2 years later. They are very debilitating but BP is still high. Tried many things to get off them which hasn't worked
Now on carnivore way of eating as last ditch attempt to get BP under control and off these pills. For AFib I take electrolytes -especially magnesium and potassium and haven't had it again
I pray you get the answers and direction you need. As you know the faithfulness and kindness of Jesus knows no bounds. God bless you heaps
